Callie Parker has not been so lucky with her relationships. She has had a couple of bad boyfriends and some toxic friends that put her through a lot. The saddest part about all of these toxic relationships is that Callie is only 17 years old. To help her try and get away from her past and all of the drama that came with it, Callie moved across the country to live with her mom for her senior year. Moving from Los Angeles to a small town in South Carolina already has its difficulties, but add a new school for her senior year and it becomes an even bigger mess. That was until she met Tucker Lane.

Harper and Riley have known each other their whole lives, but for some reason they were never friends. Every moment and memory, the other was always there in the background. When high school came around Harper moved away. At senior year soccer tryouts, Harper was the last person Riley would have expected to come strolling in. Now not only do they have to navigate senior year, new friendships, but also their secret feelings for each other. What happens when the two girls get recruited for college soccer teams at opposite sides of the country and it starts to come between them? They both have to make difficult decisions about their past and college, both of which could threaten their blooming relationship. When commitment day rolls around, will Riley still choose her dream school? Or have her dreams changed? And yes this story mentions the Taylor Swift song "Invisible String", hence the story title.
