"What makes one matter?" I asked.
He shuffled under the sheet so we could see each other's faces under the layer of white. "What's wrong?"
"The answer is people right? People make you matter, but see that's the thing. People think I'm selfish and annoying, and a slut. These things, what I am, it all means that I don't matter, right?"
"You matter to me."
