A retreat is meant to be a sanctuary-yet sometimes, it's where you find yourself exhausted from overthinking. You struggle with feelings you're told to ignore, but simply cannot escape.

I am a civil engineering student, someone trained to build solid foundations. Yet, for the first time, I feel a sense of ruin over something that hasn't even begun. There are presences that arrive quietly, offering no promises, yet they are enough to derail the direction I've spent so long constructing.

Not every connection is meant to last. Some people cross our paths only to remind us that no matter how hard we try to align the lines of fate, there are parallel paths that are never destined to meet.

Sometimes I wonder... "What if he had chosen a different path?". "What if he weren't bound to a calling higher than his own feelings?".

But not every "what if" yields an answer. There are questions that will remain as they are, no matter how many times you revisit them.

And if someone new were to arrive-someone who could turn my heart, so accustomed to solitude, into a home; someone who knows how to build not just structures, but dreams-would I finally be ready to let them in?
