It seemed like everything was rushing to me all at once and I just could not keep it all in. My mother-in-law's thinly veiled insults, every chance she got, my inability to give Tate a child, the stress that came with working tirelessly for two months, dealing with Maggie and then Rafe and his threats... It was all too much and I let it all go in my sister's arms in the ladies room at Wong's, in our designer givenchy and la Chez dresses with our husbands at the table talking business or sports or whatever it was men talked about as they waited for us. And desserts.

Bodyguard to lovers.... BL ~~~~~~ "So... you're saying you've thought about me...before? Like that?!" I say. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I think you'll be better if I uh...If you... if you spent some time out." Father says. I watch as he rubs his hand together repeatedly. "Father I don't understand." I say. "I'm not the right person to explain. I wish your mother was still alive. Boys that get to your age would like to be able to be away from all of this." Father says. "You're sending me away." I say my voice breaking. "No." He replies. "You are!" I say. "It's only for a short while. I don't want you to be away from me." Father says. "I'm not fragile! I can be on my own do things in my own! You're sending me away because you don't want to look at me!" I yell. "Go pack your things if you're not going to have a civil conversation with me." Father says. I scoff and go back inside. I'm hurt and I let myself cry as I pack my belongings. I hear a light tap on my open door. "It's me." I turn and see Yan. "I'll be with you." Yan says. I let him tuck the last few things in my suitcase and latch it closed. "Come on." He says lightly. I follow him down the stairs and past my father. Yan stops me and whispers to me, "Say bye to your father, please." I turn and face my father. "Father." I say plainly. "Be safe." He says. I roll my eyes and follow Yan outside. ~~~~~~
