With the disappearance of the avatar after the death of Avatar Roku, the world watched in horror as 3 more fell after him. The airbenders were all wiped out and so went the air nomad avatar. The southern water tribe had all of its benders taken and killed, along with the avatar of water. The earth kingdom has been sacked for decades by an onslaught of firebenders.
