It's first year, and Sirius Black has never been more scared in his life.

Not that he lets it show, of course. He is a Black, after all, and if he lets down the family name then there will be hell to pay.

Still, he can't quite stop his hands from shaking just a tiny bit, and he hopes nobody will notice.

Honestly, at this point he doesn't care who sees. Life has let him down far too many times and he has nobody left to disappoint.

The bags under his eyes are so big they could be considered a fashion statement and his studded leather jacket, zipped up under his barely-buttoned outer robe, is a clear "fuck off" to anybody who happens to glance his way.

Still, he is very much a kind person at heart, and when he sees a short, quiet child with a carefully carefree smirk and trembling hands, he decides to do whatever he can to help.
