On Meridian-Alta, not completely dissimilar to the planet we humans know and love, there is a legend. A legend that has been passed down for centuries. A legend to scare children and provoke fear in the citizens. Deep in the mountains outside the boarders of the Empire lives a sinister evil. Something beyond a simple bad man doing bad things. The whole land that surrounds him is infected by his darkness, the mountains, the woods, the rivers and water. And with armies at his command he has plundered and pillaged and murdered his way through the centuries - an age-defying immortal giant, Enceladus, here only to take the souls of all he meets and feed them to the beasts... And he's coming for the Kingdom. As things heat up in the political world within the empire, rumours of the giant, Enceladus, have begun to emerge. Spreading like wildfire, the rumours threaten to throw the empire into panic unless something can be done to stop it. But folklore is folklore. It's not real. Folklore is for townspeople with young children who need scaring into bed. Or so Aris, the second daughter of Domitor Castus, says. Having been in training to become the next Chief of the Domitor's Army since the age of 10, Aris is more weapon than woman, but has never detached herself from her mischievous streak that keeps her from becoming a sullen violence-lover. But training to become a war general leaves little time for all other aspects of life, which is fine with Aris, because who needs love when you have nunchucks? When a chase in the forest and an injury land her outside the empire's boarders, Aris soon finds herself discovering that folklore has its foundation in reality. But where does the lore end and the truth start? And what will it do to the Empire?

A kingdom across the sea, a man in pain clawing at a hated king who bears two shadows who protect him. A child, born from a mother with the powers of the Gods, screaming at a blood-soaked bed. A boy, a Prince, kind and full of the flame of life, sitting beneath a moon bug lit sky. Darkness enfolds the lands, its grasp claiming the continent and making its way from an already broken island, only to be stopped by the hands of fate. The hands of the girl and the Prince, and their love for the people in need of protection. This is their prophecy. This is their destiny and their fate depends on it. The Elemental rulers and their family are just beginning to find allies from unlikely and unimaginative places while creatures of myth and legend resurface from their campfire tales, and things aren't going as planned, so they'll have to find myths and legends of their own. Shouldn't be too hard. #6 - #strong-heroine #41 - #banter **Average Word Count Per Chapter: 8,000 **Edited (x2) LET ME KNOW IF YOU SPOT GRAMMAR ISSUES! *****Last Edited: 12/14/2024 NOTE FROM ME! - I very much model my works to resemble published examples, so there are no notes in any chapters from me, trigger warnings for chapters, etc. Just the world my brain likes to escape to every now and then.
