What's it like to fight for love when all you want is to give up living?

In 1964 San Francisco, Steady is living in a shitty apartment, working a job she hates when she meets a boy who wants to die just as much as she does.
And then their paths cross again.
It's possible the universe is giving them a sign.
Whatever it means, the two of them are still battling the dark side in their minds.
But at least they're starting to fall back in love with life.
