Who begins to have a strong hatred towards this new "Jimmy." 

Not seeing the Jimmy he used to love and know, who he quite literally watched grow up.

As Jimmy later gets hooked onto drugs and struggles with his addiction he basically starts to ruin his youth.

But with the help of Ramona his childhood 
best friend and future lover.

And Tom's job at the youth program "jump street"

He may just pull through.
