Sometimes you have to take a leap. Jump over that gaping hole of uncertainty.
Or maybe get thrown into the hole.
This hole represents the problems people are facing. A virus no one knows information about, yet everyone fears. People are told to carry on with their daily lives but many are dying.
This virus has been there for years in history. It is the present. What can they do about the future?
Protea's world is spinning as she is taken captive by the government, just when the world seems at its worst. Why? She has no idea.
Chrys is just another medical student doing what he is told in a time of crisis. Who makes the decisions? No one knows, but it does not matter too much, right?
They both get thrown into uncertainty. Trying to land safely, they have to hold onto each other (whether they want to or not). Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Before Protea met Chrys, her only focus being; providing Adalina with a better future.
Until Chrys met Protea, he was completely shut off to the dangers around him.
But she opened his eyes to the many questions hanging loosely around:
Why am I here?
Who are the good guys?
Is it really just a virus?
Who can we trust?
What haven't they told us?

It baffled scientists at it's cause, wondering what it is. Animals however, were invisible to the infected Omnivores. Humans were ignoring the Herbivores and Carnivores. Until, they too got infected. Somehow they did. Whatever caused it, they can see both human and animal as their prey. Even if their prey are carnivores. The army lost control within the first month. Airports shut down in areas nearby, while flights didn't dare to go back to Australia. No other country was willing to take Refugees. But one showed compassion and opened it's doors.
