2000 years ago the world changed, the earth became severely overpopulated and a series of catastrophic natural disasters managed to wipe out most of the earths population. Those that were left had to adapt and evolve faster. We became stronger, faster and managed to tap in to parts of the brain our ancestors never did. Over time we became a new superior human race called the ubermensch (the overman). The more time that past the better we became at cultivating this, some of us had learnt to access the ability to read minds, telepathy and even control others emotions.
One of these new gifts is the ability to sense our other half to feel the call to become whole by finding our soul mate.
Olivia cuthbert was the daughter of Edward cuthbert who was the elected overseer for the humans. When she turned 18 she had no interest in finding 'the one' in fact she didn't really believe in any of it. She wanted to be respected herself, become a leader on her own merit. She had little to no interest in finding a man. However she couldn't convince her father she didn't need to go to the academy designed for us to help cultivate our gifts and find our soul mate. Being the daughter of the overseer meant she had no choice she was about to embark on this journey whether she liked it or not.
