Born a Kook, raised a Pogue. Mally Davis knew her way around the Cut before she knew her times tables and she created havoc wherever she went. She found herself some troublesome friends at a young age and was subjected to a life of petty crime and having fun. She worked for what she wanted, fought for what she believed in and lied to blasé cops who didn't really give much of a rats ass. 

That's what life on the south side of the Outer Banks was like - they were ignored and neglected, left to their own devises and on an island full of mystery sometimes that wasn't a bad thing. 

After all, the Outer Banks was paradise on earth...

{Book 1/2} Growing up in the shadow of her older half brother, John B, would not have been the life Harley would have chosen. After being dumped there at age six, Harley learnt quickly, that when you're a pogue, you don't have the best of luck. After being blackmailed by JJ, her brothers annoying best friend, Harley somehow finds herself getting in way over her head on a treasure hunt with John B and his friends, and in the chaos of it all, she finds herself starting to accept the fact that maybe pogue life isn't that bad after all, and maybe a certain blonde headed pogue in particular, wasn't as annoying as she originally thought. For the purpose of this story and the content in it, Harley is sixteen at the start of season 1 and the Pogues/ kooks are aged up by 1 year.
