Offsides

In soccer, being offsides means that you are ahead of the ball and the other team.

To Benji, being ahead was a bad thing. He wanted to be exactly where everyone else was, even if that's not who he truly was.

Rodanthe was the exact opposite. She didn't care if she was different than everyone else. She was proud of who she was.
