Mason Monroe is a 16 year old boy with 2 younger siblings : Amy (14), and Mathew (12). He and his family planned to go to a place called Magnolio Island (which is not really an island). They go there because they want to spend their winter break at their Grandma Jane's House. But when the Monroe family finds out that Grandma Jane is in the hospital, they have to delay their trip and Go back home. Unfortunately, their car ran out of gas and they are stuck in Magnolio Island until a tow comes. Since it was nighttime, they decided to stop by a family's house to see if they can stay for the night. The Nelson Family eventually accepts and allow the Monroe's to stay. There, Mason meets Ms. and Mr. Nelson's daughter, Madeline. The two bond and become friends. Mason thought that he was just gonna stay at the Nelson house for just that one night, but little did he know, that Magnolio Island is just a mystery waiting to be uncovered.
