Castiel Novak thought that life as a prison guard had driven him into a rut. He loved working with the inmates, but he'd been stuck behind a desk for months while his facility was being administratively gutted and rebuilt from the ground up. He was itching for a change. When co-worker Adam Milligan begins to exhibit anti-social behaviors toward the inmates, Warden Bobby Singer puts Cas back on the beat and into the fire.
Enter Dean Winchester. Disrespectful, annoying, glutton for punishment. Freshly transferred to Virginia's oldest minimum security prison from another facility, it takes the con no time to set his eyes on the empathetic guard puttering around his cell block. The inmate's blatant flirtations and murky intentions throw Cas off his game and into a whirlwind of self doubt and sexual tension. Feeling he's been caught in a game of cat and mouse, the guard fights the pull of a man he knows is dangerous but can't seem to stay away from.
