Stranger's Voice

The rapidly increasing beat of Phil's heart only spurred him on to run. The sky was still dark and the air was still laced with the cold chill of winter, the only difference now was the ghostly figures lurking between the trees. He couldn't tell if they were chasing him, after that one had touched his face he hadn't looked back, but he figured he probably wouldn't be safe in their presence anyway.
It didn't take long, or maybe it did, but soon the world grew silent yet again and Phil's eyes were met with two more damp ones. Familiar breath fanned along his bottom lip as large hands cupped his cheeks, and he could hear the distant calls of his name.

For a split second everything felt like it would all be okay, and the smallest of smiles inched it's way onto his face.
