Julian Casablancas, Nikolai Fraiture, Fabrizio Moretti, and Nick Valensi need another guitar player and a gig at the Five-O club to get recognized by producers and record labels. Their future as a band seems distant as they struggle to find their last member and repeatedly get rejected by the club. However, when they find out that the daughter of the Five-O's owner attends their school and her best friend, Albert Hammond Jr., can play guitar, the four come up with a plan to get the guy and the gig.
