At least to Ellie, he is the next big thing.
So yes, that means she is one of many fan girls out there, totally mesmerised by everything he says and does. There's just the small matter that she daren't put out there: she is definitely; completely; almost certainly, in love with him. As crazy as it sounds, it's true and the only person in the world she can trust to not give her grief about it, is her newest best friend, AJ. Only problem is, she lives miles away in Ireland. As does Nolan.
When AJ offers her the chance to finally visit her, she jumps at the chance, not realising she has a secret of her own - for Ellie to finally meet her one true love. Not that Ellie would ever let herself fall for Nolan for real, given he is not only out of her league, but also five years her junior.
