The dust has since settled, yet knowledge has been lost, great works were left in the rubble, robbed of their purpose. Yet life goes on, new religions and government have appeared from the ruins of the old world, now naught but a distant memory to those who still live in its carcass.

Behind the Dark
The breaking of worlds is much louder than one might think. While in all natural senses it is nearly silent; no birds flying about and singing their songs, no noises from the heavy traffic mere feet away from where I stand, no airplanes cutting seams into the otherwise-perfect blue sky, my ears ring with the deafening roar only I seem to hear.
