Located in the heart of New York City lies a world-famous tattoo parlor, Colors. It is home to some of the world's most famous tattoo designs, inked by a colorful arrangement of talented tattoo artists. Jason is a rising tattoo artist who specializes in freelance inking, and doesn't have much interest in anything but his work. His life changes when Lise, an eccentric art student enamored by his artistic talent, begs him to take her on as an apprentice. They don't know it yet, but she is the color to his ink, and he is the ink to her color.

This is a love story between Clarisse and Jonathan. They seem very different from a lot of points of view. They have a rough start, and they continue to mess up at every step of the way. They are young and they don't know any better. It is a story about how they grow up together, how they become adults. But they get there the hard way.
