Virgil Cassidy is an international superstar for his music and personality, all while being a huge introvert. Roman Walsh is a musical theatre actor and college kid who was a fan of Virgil far before he became famous.
A public statement is made by Virgil that dating isn't for him after getting played multiple times just for money and attention, and as a celebrity, he doesn't know exactly who to trust anymore except, of course, for his best friend since childhood, Patton Ambrose.
When Patton introduces him to a small artist by the name Janus Seymour who just so happens to have a superfan named Roman for a friend, Virgil's entire thought process is flipped on its head.
There are more layers than the general public sees, and there are suddenly two more big problems that appear.
Is Roman worth his trust?

When it wasn't his home life giving him anxiety, it was life in general. He grew up in an abusive, unstable household and had learned to walk on eggshells around everyone he met. This was why he only had one friend, Patton, who he could really confide in. Virgil was as angry as he was anxious about life, and both sides of him could get extreme. Unhealthily extreme. Roman had a complicated mind, and his thoughts were much louder than normal. If there were one word to sum him up, it'd be 'confused.' Though he keeps a smile on at all times, his mind constantly interferes with his attempts at simply being happy. Because he had nothing to compare his brain with, he couldn't determine if something was wrong with him or if it was completely normal. Logan and Patton are the parents of the adopted 3 year old twins Remus and Roman. Dean (Deceit) is a single father of adopted 3 year old Virgil, who just moved in to the house across the street. Virgil, though only 3, deals with extreme anxiety, he's a slow learner so he doesn't talk very much and rarely, if not ever, leaves Dean's side and has developed trust issues and PTSD due to the incident that caused them to move in the first place. Unfortunately due to the new circumstances, Dean now has to work so that they can afford to live and is unable to afford for Virgil to go to daycare. Since Patton is a stay at home dad and was very friendly the first time meeting, Dean puts Virgil in his care also hoping that it will help Virgil with his social skills and being around other kids his age.
