Before Kai could respond, the girl who had been sitting in front of him, turned around and added, "Ooo, are you guys talking about Clair Edwards? I heard a rumour that one time, someone from the lacrosse team asked her out, but she said no because he wasn't handsome enough for her." 

"Somebody told me that once, Clair dated a Boston Red Sox player and then, totally dumped him because he bored her," a different girl added.

Suddenly, he was surrounded by a group of girls who had flocked his table, spewing out completely outlandish rumours one after another. Kai looked up to Jacob for help, but he held his palms up in surrender. 

Then one voice rose above the rest, "I heard that Clair Edwards was a cold-hearted bitch."
