I'll be the first to admit I'm terrible at nonfiction. I don't care how many A's I get, I don't enjoy nonfiction/academic writing in the least and don't think I'm very good at it. For this paper, we had to pick an author and analyze three of their books from a linguistic standpoint. I didn't understand what I was doing, I forgot to re-read, I winged it...and got an A. If I didn't know this professor was very good at sticking to the letter of the law, I would think he was crazy.

"English makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, but there is a method to the madness. There is the power to express yourself. There is the power to make people feel certain emotions. There is the power to persuade. There is order with grammar. Excitement with figurative language. There is a passing of knowledge"
