Jellal didn't mean to kill his one night stand's boyfriend. It was a lapse of judgement that ended in Jellal losing his sister, the most important person in his life. 
Erza had finally gotten revenge on the one that killed her boyfriend the night of the best one night stand of her life. The one she'd been hunting for years- a woman working as an assassin who'd killed her lovee. Now that she'd avenged her boyfriend and killed the woman, her only goal was to find the man she was addicted to. Even when Jellal swore she was merely a fling and he was much too busy tracking his sister's killer, Erza was going to show him her affection was worth the time.
