You, an ex horse jockey had run away from home. Your family has arranged a marriage for you and demanded that you give up the races all together.
Each race, you've posed as a man. They always gave you more money that way. In the toxic environment the L/N family has put you through. It would be much easier to run away and continue doing what you love.
Or so you thought.
Being held hostage for sex and ransom is bound to happen, especially around the lawless lands of the west you fled to. It was going to happen eventually. The minute they found out you wasn't what you said you was, they take you.
Luckily, Mr. Dutch Van Der Linde took you under his wing, and you made do with what you had. It was a new beginning.
°this self insert story is gradual and a bit slow paced. That being said, I tried to put a lot of work into characterization, unique (custom) missions and giving Y/N an important and believable role in the story. Cus that's what self inserts are about right? :)°

Each step filled with grim determination as they waded through the knee-high snow towards us. They stopped a few feet away. The taller man's eyes met mine. He carried himself with silent confidence, evident in the expression on his weathered, undeniably handsome face. Sky-blue eyes framed by thick brows, chapped, full lips, a crooked nose.
