When her family's complicated history leads her to a small town on the outskirts of deep nowhere in Virginia, Phoebe finds herself immersed in a world full of vampires, werewolves, hybrids and other creatures she'd taken great precaution in avoiding her entire life. 

But hunters are on the loose in Mystic Falls, Virginia, and the originals have chosen this town as their new home base, challenging the very concept of a truce with the local townsfolk. 

As Phoebe discovers more about the small town she's moved in, she starts to question reality and this strange obsession she develops about one peculiar big bad wolf, but this great evil, looming over their heads might not be exactly what it seems.
