Though she does not realize it, Myrae Clemans is very special. She's special because she is one of the first designer babies to ever be born. Her parents, who are scientists, specially edited her genes to create what they would deem their "ideal" child. And, they were successful. Well, almost.

Myrae does not know what edits her parents made to her genes. She knows it makes her special, but she doesn't know just how special, or how unfortunate.

But more importantly, Myrae has no idea just how big of a conspiracy her parents are wrapped up in.
