Atonement

Eli Backwater is a private investigator who is now returning to work for the first time since the death of his daughter.
With Eli on the edge of recovery from depression, he hears word of a boy who went missing in the hills of Pennsylvania, and was last seen near the isolated and mysterious village of Karville. With his dead daughter and crumbling marriage in mind, Eli sets off against his partners wishes to find the child and redeem his failures from the years prior.
