When Cian O'Neill goes back to his grandparents house for the summer, he goes back to his sanctuary: the forest that surrounds the back of his grandparents' manor. There the mysterious high-pitched scream is getting worse and worse.
Three days later he goes back to the forest when it's a full moon and he encounters a banshee. Another three days go by, and when it's still a full moon Cian hears an ugly, high-pitched scream that fades into a beautiful sorrowful song that slowly puts him to sleep. A song only he can hear.
