Young sixteen year old Saoirse Edmund and her family move to Hawkins, Indiana because her mother had gotten a job as a police officer there.
When Saoirse gets there she decides to explore her new neighborhood and ends up meeting three boys, Mike, Dustin and Caleb who welcome her into their neighborhood.
That night, a mysterious and haunting creature breaks into their home and takes her older brother Theo, and dragged him into the woods. When she goes to the boys for help, she learns the twisted and dark world of Hawkins and everything it carries.
