Anyone who played an instrument in their high school band knows about the 'Band Family'. I mean, you go on band trips together, have rehearsal sessions together, endure painfully long bus ride (or if you're lucky, Plane rides) together, it's a whole thing! Wether or not you actually had any band friends doesn't matter; if you're in band? you're a member of the Band Family. This book is about just that, because High school band is a big part of a lot of people's high school experience! 'Band kids' deals with band drama, friend drama, and personal drama because that's just what high school is like! 🏳️🌈 Queer and ✊🏾People of colour characters because they exist (surprise, surprise)

What hurts even more is to experience what you had wanted for a little while only for it to be robbed away from you brutally. On her first day, however, a chance encounter (or collision) changes the trajectory of her life. Demi is a transfer student, upset that her father's job has torn her away from the city, her boyfriend, and the life she knows. It hasn't been an easy adjustment to such a tiny, boring town, and she doesn't even have a car to get away. The first day of her senior year is going terrible, and to make matters worse, her clumsy feet have her stumbling down the stairs.
