"Mind if I join your group?" Who knew that such words could be said so perfectly? I froze as a very low voice flowed into my ears. Oh God, it didn't feel real. But it was, it was the handsome boy. I don't know how to talk when boys come around. Erica's smirk confirmed my dread. I turned around slowly. Man, I can still feel the anxiety that punched me in the gut. His eyes are so intense. Way more intense close up. I didn't know where to look, I knew he would think that it was weird if I kept just staring into his eyes so I just looked down at my desk. Like a dumbass. My lungs felt like they were on fire as he waved. "Sure! Pop a squat, Shiloh." Eli barely glanced up from his phone. I stared at him. His name is Shiloh? A name never fit a face so perfectly before. Little did I know that from that day on, my life would change completely. *Mature content*

"Stop! You're going to hurt each other, stop!" My voice cracked as I cried out, my words getting lost in the chaos around us. I didn't know how to make them listen. "Laylanna! Put your fucking clothes on!" Reuben's voice was like a whip, sharp and furious, and it made me jump. I had never heard him yell at me like that before, and the shock of it made my chest tighten. This wasn't the guy who would tease me and laugh it off. My hands were shaking uncontrollably as I reached down to grab my dress off the floor. The fabric felt cold against my skin as I quickly pulled it back on, feeling exposed and vulnerable. x xx x xx Laylanna thought moving back home would be a fresh start. Instead, she's faced with Reuben, her childhood crush who's just as frustrating as ever, and Ethan... a stranger who seems to know exactly how to push her buttons. Old memories, new attractions, and a high school that feels more dangerous than ever. Can she survive the first day-or will her heart get caught in the chaos?
