One night , Arisha and I were sitting near the oak tree outside . Everything was clear in the light of the night. I said, " Just like this, I want to bring light for you. I want to become the light for you . " She said , " I want you to become my darkness . " I looked at her in surprise , then she said , " I want you to become my darkness , not my light . In the light , we all wear masks . The mask of happiness , the mask of being brave , but the darkness knows everything . Our tears , pain , our weakness , our fear , everything . That's why I want you to become my darkness . " I said smiling , " You know you talk very strange things . " Giving me a slight push with her shoulder , Arisha said , " That's why you like me , right ? " I started looking the other way laughing . I said , " I shouldn't have told you . This is a short story I wrote in my psychology of crime victims class. We had to write the beginning of a story and then we were assigned a crime and then we had to finish it based on our crime. I thought my story was fun and wanted to share it. The writing might not be very good. I'm a psych major. Emma goes to college and doesn't get the experience she thought that she would get. My mum always used to tell me what it's like to see your mate for the first time. She used to say that at that moment, everything around you stopped, that nothing else mattered. And nothing else would matter. If it wasn't for the little girl clinging to my leg right now.
