Long ago, there was a village of vikings on a small island known as Berk, which suffered weekly, sometimes even nightly raids from fire breathing dragons. However the chief's wife, Valka, believed peace was possible between the Vikings and Dragons but no one believed her. During a terrible raid, she was taken by a dragon that showed signs of kindness. However she wasn't the only one taken since she grabbed her infant, Hiccup Haddock the Third, to keep him away from a fire started by the dragon who was startled by her husband. Unfortunately she couldn't grab her other son, a toddler, in time and he was left behind with his father. Over the years, the boy grew up hating dragons and counted down the days until he could join the warriors in battle, defending his village and avenging his brother and mother. However his father always kept him inside the forge during raids in fear of losing the only family he had left. There, the boy became a bit of an inventor as well as a decent blacksmith. However all of that changed when one night, using one of his inventions, he shot down the most dangerous and mysterious dragon in the entire Archipelago. The Night Fury...

Hiccup was so upset that his people chose him to kill he dragon in front of them, but he can't because if he does, his dragon Toothless won't trust him anymore. He made a plan on leaving Berk and be free like dragons do. But, when he succeeded, something unexpected would change his life for good. All the songs aren't mine, and the story is inspired by the film Wolfwalkers. P. S. Please recode the unknown letters to read.

Hiccup suddenly becomes ignored - Astrid's vanished, Snotlout is now the 'Dragon Conqueror', and the only friend Hiccup has is Toothless. Everyone seems to have forgotten everything that Hiccup has done for them. He falls into a depression, but when he suddenly spots Astrid flying away, and hearing her story, he wants to prove he doesn't need protecting. He wants to be recognised for what he's done for Berk. But will Berk accept that Hiccup can protect himself? Hiccstrid! Takes place in the middle of the Riders of Berk series.
