The world burned. Everyone sat and watched each other tear each continent apart, without remorse. Another civil war. A war on race, blood spilt over the color of people's skin. It was senseless, it was heartbreaking and unknowingly, it was planned. It didn't come out until it was already too late to stop the fighting, too late to put out the flames that took over the structures of old and buildings of new. No one knew until they followed the path into controlled chaos led by their own leaders. Little by little, news got out that riots were staged and that deaths that had been publicized and caused such outrage were nothing but a ruse to ignite the fear and rage in people, to cause an uprising. Blacks against whites. Blacks against police. Whites against police. Brother against Brother. Sister against Sister.

"Feeling better?" Dante asked gently but there was an undertone to it. "I was puking this morning but I'm all better. Probably just a stubborn stomach flu. Just makes me ache all over." Giving him a small smile to reassure him. He sadly didn't look so convinced. Did I miss a spot with my makeup? The only thing my uncle gets me that's semi nice, but it is to hide his abuse. "Bullshit! Stop lying." Dante said sternly. My heartbeat was in my ears as he spoke those words, and my anxiety made my palms sweaty. His eyes held concern and suspicion which only made me want to cower away. "I'm n-n-not-" His hazel eyes were shifting darker which made my heart fearful. His eyes were like uncles but without the hatred. "He's right Caelia. Tell us the truth." Ivena said from behind me. My anxiety peaked and my chest went tight; tears pricked my eyes. Why can't they leave it alone? Did they see one of my bruises? Maybe my uncle is right, maybe I am stupid. They are going to think so poorly of me, but I don't know if I can hide it from them much longer. Their eyes went over me as if analyzing me and I hated it. "No no its just from being sick I swear I-" Their eyes cut through me and into my soul. Tears blurred my vision as I realized they wouldn't accept it. "He's just drunk and angry. He doesn't know what he's doing." Tears threaten to fall at my words, and it felt so hard to breathe to even speak the hidden truth. "Who?" Dante asked with a softer tone. His hands reached out to touch me, but I jerked away only making it worse on me. ===================================== Caelia Addison and her Uncle moved to a new place in order to start over to escape his every growing debt. While searching for a job, she ends up meeting three people that end up not only saving her from her abuse, but can they save her from their world or will simply get Caught in the Feud...
