15 year old Evangeline Pittman lives a seemingly perfect life: two dads that care about her deeply, good grades, a decent amount of friends, and a wonderful house. She's always been a very polite girl, albeit a bit quiet. Despite being a little lonely at times, she's usually very happy. However, after losing her grandmother to cancer, she begins to slip into a depressive state.
15 year old Miles - or, as most people still know him, Miley - Jones is the typical loner: dresses in dark, baggy clothes everyday; decent grades in school; doesn't have really any friends. The fact that he's a closeted trans man doesn't exactly make life any easier.
When the two end up in most of the same classes, a friendship begins to blossom - and potentially bloom into something more.

"What if I'm not one?" I asked, my body wound tight with tension. "One what?" he asked, his voice soft and low. I hesitated. Was I ready? I wanted to tell him so badly. Wanted to scream it from the fucking rooftops. But there would be no going back if I allowed the words to spill out into the world. Telling myself I didn't need someone else's validation, that I knew myself well enough to know with absolute certainty that I was trans was all good and well in principle. Steph is a 21-year-old who freshly got out of a three-year bachelor's program in International Business. She moves from her home to Zuzu City with the expectation of getting a good-paying job, but her studies end up being useless and she gets stuck working for Joja with a salary just barely over minimum wage. Somewhere along the lines, she meets wonderful and less wonderful people, among which lies Alex, the stunning gridball player who's not sure what to say or do all the time, but always knows how to make up for his mistakes. Little does everybody know, Steph is actually transgender. This story covers one's way through navigating what for others is a confusing time but for Stephanie, just a thing she has to do to achieve her happiness. Throughout the story, there is an evolution in regard to the pronouns used to refer to the main character that I hope people don't perceive as offensive. This fanfiction tells my story, the way I experienced gender dysphoria which is much diminished in comparison to others on the same spectrum.
