the clear blue waters of gusu beckon all, but no one dares to go past the point of no return. 

legend has it, beneath the sparkling current dwells a monster so fierce only the chosen one could defeat it. 

of course, honour isn't exactly what jin ling is seeking when he throws himself into the harsh tide.

and of course, the legends aren't exactly true. well, monsters or not, they definitely had tails.

Mingi whispers his song louder, loud enough to lure the human closer, though he's careful not to sing it too loud. It has a tendency to kill friend and foe alike. The man obeys, hanging onto Mingi's every word. He takes a step closer, then another and another until he's practically leaning over the railing. He's close enough now that Mingi can see his stunningly wide eyes and his full lips and it's almost a shame that his life will end here, for he is the most beautiful thing Mingi thinks he's ever laid eyes on. He reaches out a clawed hand to touch the man's face. It's soft and smooth. Mingi is as captivated as the human seems to be and for a split second, the man's eyes are lucid. They are lucid and Mingi realizes he's stopped singing. His voice escapes him and his song dies in his throat and he doesn't even notice until San's voice is gone too and with it, the spell keeping the human obedient and still. OR A pirate tries to capture the siren trying to eat him and everything goes to shit for everyone involved.

(Story written in 1st person, present tense) Where the strong currents of the Reef lead Ao'nung to the jungles, and there he meets an Omatikayan boy willing to help him get back home. *** Upon one of the usual father and son quarrels, Ao'nung decides he's had enough, and so he flees his home, beyond the reefs--the last place he's allowed to go to, or any water Na'vi for that matter. It's a forbidden place. A no-go zone. It was supposed to be a break to clear his head, far from home, but not too far. He was supposed to return. But within hours he's swept away in the strong currents and ends up somewhere he does not know of. The jungles. He wants to cry and plead forgiveness for his hard-headed choices, but soon an Omatikayan boy stumbles upon him and is ready to kill him. Ao'nung has spent too much time away from home and grows helpless. Fortunately, the Omatikayan boy has a change of heart and decides to help him and takes care of him in the meantime. Unfortunately, something called "love" forms between the two boys of completely different lifestyles and separate clans. Ao'nung is torn. I'm Not A Mermaid (YuZhoufest) by Venusius

Siren!AU. Weizhou harboured a deep curiosity towards the sea ever since he was saved from drowning by a mysterious sea creature when he was having a family vacation to an unknown beach 15 years ago. As much as he wanted to return to that beach, his parents forbade him to because he was almost drowned once and they didn't want the same unfortunate event to happen again to their only son. He's now 22 and freshly graduated from university. He thinks that it's time to fulfill his curiosity by taking a self trip to that beach in the hope to see his life saver. This is a story a boy who returned home from a foreign country after a divorce. He always felt as if a part of him was missing but coming home didn't fill the void in his heart as he hoped. He ran into a thief one morning and was completely stunned. He believed the thief had something to do with his past. As things began to unravel, he realised this person had a secret. This story is about merpeople and humans. I got part of my inspiration from 'Legend of the Blue Sea' and 'The Little Mermaid'. Pictures are not mine, they were gotten off google search. I used them in creating a cover for this story.
