You left but that evening you heard explosions, your town was bombarded and no one survived making you the only one who was fortunate enough to not be there. You did anything to make money, even illegal things. Stealing, hacking... hurting... It didn't take long before Task Force 141 took notice of your actions. What will you do now that they are looking for you? Will you run? face them? Live? or die?...

Ah, yes, the infamous self-insert fic, bane of good literature. Often spawned by immature writers who know no better. An avid Call of Duty fan did just this when she was a 7th grader, and this is the frightening result. Meet Scarab, a woman in the Task Force 141, falls in love with Soap and goes on this bizarre adventure as I retcon the plot and bastardize the campaign of a video game best known for it's sequel baiting and squealing little boys on multiplayer. Or, if you'd rather read the childish summary: "Warning, there is some bad lanuage like the f*ck. So if you don't want to read swears then don't bother. But we see what would happen with call of duty, when there are a few other chapters involved." (This story is being published word for word, exactly how it looked when I first wrote it. [I've kind of mashed the canon from them. essentially it sources the comics for the past, references the original modern warfare lineup for Roach and then the last segment lines up with the events of the newer MW2, this was to kind of create my own timeline for the remake. hope that helps!] Ghost had killed off his life outside the military many years ago, as a result scars from past trauma had never fully healed due to years of neglect and ignorance in the hopes they'd go away on their own. When being forced to face those scars over Christmas he quickly realised he couldn't do it without Johnny 'soap' Mactavish, a Sergeant he was loosely acquainted with. In doing so he's forced to go against his self-hatred, his longing for affection and the loss of a teammate near to him. What happens when a blast from the past is the reason I get reassigned to Task Force 141? I was very clearly NOT what the men of 141 were expecting. I am not the man they thought was joining their group. Chaos ensues as we are tasked with tracking down four stolen missiles. Being teamed with these men was not what I was expecting. Especially catching the eyes of two notorious masked men.

A slowburn-ish soapxreader story i made for fun (first time yay) COMPLETED+MINORS DNI all cover credits to 661ave on tik tok!! they make the best COD renderings. Reader is a solider working for the Shadow Company at Graves orders. The mission was to find, maybe fuck, and kill Soap, Ghosts only friend; without Soap Ghost would be a shell of a man and unable to use his strengths again the Shadow Companys bigger plan. But along the way things get a little south as you are instead taken as a hostage to the 141 at their base. Learning you were betrayed by Phillip Graves you join the 141 to help them out to get closer to Graves to kill him and escape the military all together with Benning, who may or may not be alive. It's not very lore accurate and loosely takes place during MW2. The most iinspo i got plot wise is the cold war campaign so if ykkk ;) At the beginning there was more POV variation; by the end i stuck with 2nd pov. mc is a little of self insert and annoying, dont worry.
