"You've packed", she asked. Once the words left her lips, her voice broke into pieces. Her eyes held the jumbo tears that wanted so eagerly to fall. She walked over and placed the mug onto the nightstand and sat next to me on the bed. I looked over at the mug that read "World's Best Mom". I had bought that for her when I was thirteen for Mother's Day. I had spent the day before with my aunt. We shopped for hours in stores and couldn't find anything for my mom. I finally settled on the mug. I remember feeling so guilty for getting her a basic gift. However, when mom opened the gift, her eyes lit up. She had the biggest smile and gave me the biggest hug. That was the last day, the last year,....the last moment that I lived in a happy family. My eyes burned again as my throat became scratchy. Growing up, Saige had the perfect family. Loving parents, friends, and easy life. However, when a brutal divorce comes knocking on the door to her parents' marriage, Saige is thrown into a new world of different. Truths are uncovered and secrets are revealed. Having to leave her mom in California, to live with her father in Miami, Saige finally sees her father for who he really is. *Please be mindful that this book will have slow Updates! Thank you!
