When Amira Reyes was twelve years old she moved from her small town on the border of Mexico and Guatemala to Freeridge, Los Angeles. 

Not soon after her parents died, so she was left with her mom's bestfriend.

The summer before her freshman year of high school she goes back to were she was born to visit her family. She comes back to find a whole lot more shit has went down than she would have thought without her and Monse.

"Elaborate." I let go slowly. 

"Some of the guys wanted to get at Monse. So I claimed her." This is not Twilight and she is not Bella Swan, you know what nevermind. 

"Ok, then what does this have to do with me?" I crossed my arms and rose a brow.

"I tried to claim you too and..." 

"And?" I motioned for him to continue.

"It didn't stop him."

"Amira, you need to be careful. I tried to save you too." 

"What do you mean? Is this some sort of prank because this sounds like some Percy Jackson, Vampire, Werewolf, romance, dystopian shit."
