Another day in his boring, sad life. Every day for the past 1000 years, Merlin has waited for the return of Arthur. After all this time, he finally finds him, but he doesn't remember. When Merlin goes to confront his long awaited friend, they are attacked by Morgouse. He soon learns that everyone he knew from Camelot returned with Arthur, both good and bad. Set one year after series 5 in an alternate timeline where Arthur survives Camlaan. For one year, Camelot has had time to adjust to a new age where the magic ban has been lifted and sorcerers can practice magic freely without the fear of being hunted and killed. However, the lift on the ban hasn't come without a price - riots plague the streets of Camelot and with the people fighting amongst each other, King Alined of Deorham seizes opportunity to invade. However, to invade successfully, Alined needs to remove the one person at Arthur's side that would sure be a problem if he gets in the way - Emrys.
