Seven years ago, Maria's mother vanished, and she was taken in by her Uncle Johann, a reclusive inventor. Now she stands accused of her uncle's murder under circumstances that mirror her mother's disappearance: a locked room, a sole suspect, and a lab mouse that appeared seemingly out of nowhere.
As the building is locked down, a hard-nosed federal agent launches an investigation under a cloak of secrecy. Whatever Uncle Johann's latest invention does, it's dangerous enough to be locked away forever. And if Maria can't uncover the truth, she will meet the same fate.
In this interactive story, it is up to you to use your comments to study the clues, solve the riddles, and help Maria clear her name.

The Blood Order
"Are you coming to bed firefly?" He says to me laying his hands over my waist joining me in looking over the city. "I want to look out for a little longer if that is alright?" I mumble hoping that he heard me anyways, I wasn't ready to walk into that bedroom, and I don't think I ever would be. "Of course, I'll be getting ready for bed, come in whenever you are ready." He says confidently and walks away leaving my waist cold something for which I am grateful. Especially when my mind burns with other more dangerous thoughts. The warmth that forever lingers in the air, never burning the skin, but always reminding about what is around us. I force air into my lungs feeling the unexpected warmth fill me. He stands in the room watching me even though he said he was getting ready for bed. He is worried about me, about me jumping. I have contemplated it I will admit, but he would stop me before I fell even two feet. I was stuck, and no one could save me. Not even myself, my fucking weak self. His presence is demanding no matter where we are, but right now I could sense everything about him, and I try to suppress the unwanted feelings that curl right under my skin. "Firefly? About done?" He calls out and I release my hand from the guard rail not realizing that as I looked at the lights that covered the shining city with the falling fire in the background that my subconscious was thinking about how nice it would be... how relieving it would be... to just fall. True freedom. I take a step back and wrap my hands together turning around to a fully clothed unchanged man and nod once. I could see the fear in his eyes that I would, he knows if he gave me the chance... I wasn't ready for this, but I had to survive. No matter what. A Place Where Unknown
When the sky begins to speak, the earth answers with secrets no one was meant to find. Maria De La Cruz has spent her life chasing shadows of the past-her missing sister Rose, the fractured world left behind by the Rift, and the truth hidden in the ruins no one dares to enter. But when a pattern of lights appears in the scarred heavens, she sees not just a mystery but a message. Drawn into a reluctant alliance with scholars, soldiers, scavengers, and liars, Maria descends a newly unearthed staircase of black glass that winds into the world below. Every step reveals impossible landscapes: jungles glowing with living machinery, drowned cities that whisper with the dead, deserts of shifting gears. Each place holds clues like a crime scene waiting to be solved. But Maria is no ordinary explorer-she is a detective in a world that refuses to be mapped. The deeper she goes, the more the evidence points to one impossible conclusion: the Rift was never an accident. Someone opened it. Someone is still controlling it. And Rose, long believed lost, may be at the heart of it all. As allies fracture and betrayals mount, Maria must untangle the greatest mystery of all: not just who created the Rift, but why it has been waiting-for her. In a journey of adventure, mystery, and thriller suspense-woven with the fantasy of sorcery and the science of lost technology-A Place Where Unknown is a sprawling 890-page epic where every chapter is a new discovery, every location a new atmosphere, and every truth more dangerous than the last.Concluida
Half Hero ⚡️ {Superhero Adventure Scifi}
I should be dead. At least, that's what the government officials told me in the super-secret lab where I woke up strapped to a mattress in a windowless room...Sound problematic to anyone else? Like I told the psychos experimenting on me, I've got zero clue how I got my new powers, but I'm sure-as-shit not going to let them turn me into a deadly weapon (or squeeze me into a spangly jumpsuit). Problem is, I'm not so great at controlling whatever the hell it is I've become...Not to mention I'm on the run from my country for a teensy-weensy act of treason while being chased by a shadowy masked mute who may or may not have superhuman abilities too (but is definitely stupid hot under his off-putting disguise). I'm only 25 and my career choices have been limited to hero or villain. WTF?!? Indie Author Fangirl Moments: 1. SHORTLISTED FOR A 2021 Watty (WTF?!?) 2. INSTALLING UPDATE ONE OF TEN
"So let me get this right," Emily paused, gathering her thoughts. Everything Caleb had just said was CRAZY, but it had to be true. Why would he lie about this? "There's a genius out there who somehow created a computer virus which he can load onto someone's devise and it will allow him to control the world?" "Not exactly," Caleb said, concentrating. "Look, he has the virus and loads it up on some person's computer. Then he can use its information and-if I'm understanding what I've read so far-he will be able to give the computer commands. For example, he could tell the computer to lock everyone else out, while he can still receive the information from it." "So this guy was put in prison because he was hacking into nuclear launch devices. And now he's free in Chicago. Where-according to you-there is a building which houses the last remaining remnant of the Smallpox?" Emily clarified. "The building itself doesn't host it. The computers could potentially command a lab here in the U.S. to release it somewhere in the world. I know exactly what he's doing, Emily," Caleb finished. Emily didn't ask how he knew. She just knew that if that disease was released again...there wouldn't be anyone left.Concluida

I see how people die. It only happens the first time I touch someone. A handshake. My arm brushing yours on the subway. All of it. So much noise, every day and all the time. Drives a girl crazy after a while. If there's no skin contact, my head belongs to me for a few more seconds each day. I've seen every scenario. Except for one. I've never played an active role in a death. That is, until now. Copyright © epicmishamigo 2019 July 25th 2019- October 8th 2019Concluida

. Three years. It had been three years since he'd been taken, experimented on, had his DNA altered and became a freak of nature. He knew because he'd managed to peek at the computer when they dragged him into that dreaded room; the one they used to prod, poke and inject him with god-knows-what. He was considered their only success - meaning their illegal tests hadn't killed him or rendered him paralysed, or worse; brain dead. He was subject 254. And he was the only survivor. At least until she - subject 391 - moved into the cell next door. - - 18th June 2018 - Rank 1 #sciencefiction 17th May 2019 - Rank 4 #romance 22nd Feb 2019 - Rank 1 #superpowers -- ** NOW COMPLETED**Concluida
