The Gang Leader's Thief

"What did you see?" His voice was hard and angry.

I answered the question the way I've been taught by years living on the streets.

"I didn't see nothing!"

I could tell he was already beginning to lose patience. The gun pressed hard up against my skin and he had begun leaning his body weight against me, making it even harder for me to breathe.

"I'm not going to say it again." he snarled in my face.

Regrettably, for me at least, this was the very moment when the shock had worn off and my attitude began to kick back in.

" and neither am i " I answered in the same tone.

He seemed genuinely shocked and surprised by my attitude but then he pushed the gun harder into my skin. I didn't react at all, I just maintained eye contact.

" There are ways I can make you talk." he snarled.

I had to bite back a laugh because of the number of books and movies he probably just quoted.

"I'm sure there all are," I replied sarcastically.
