Will often helps Alex run her stall at the market on Saturday afternoons. One day two robbers steal four crates of beer from the stall. Will follows the men out of the market but things quickly take a turn for the worse when one of the men recognises him as the boy from the stall. Will and Alex track the men down thanks to Clive. Alex tries to get the beer back but she is tied up by the men and dragged into a barn. The men spot Will watching them and then go after him. Can Will escape? What will happen to Alex?
Will is eight years old and lives with his mum, dad and his dog, Clive. He spends much of his time with his best friend Charlie who lives in the house on the opposite side of the street and Alexandra, his next door neighbour.
The author, Paul Cook, wrote these stories for his eight year old son Matthew to read as part of his homeschooling activities during the COVID-19 lockdown. Matthew enjoyed reading the stories (or he was just being polite) and so Paul decided to share them online. These short stories are suitable for children aged 8-11 years old. This book contains scenes of threat and violence which might upset some readers.
