John Laurens concentrated on the elegant words written on the slightly torn letter, unable to identify exactly why he was doing so. He tried his hardest to process the words to the core, since everything Alexander wrote had a deeper meaning than what others could understand on the surface. But, despite Alexander's meaningful and deep words, it still hurt John to read them.

Sometimes, John's vision would go dark, and neon blue, violet, and green hallucinations replaced the world as he focused on the name of the very man that signed the letter, but he soon realized that he only saw these dark and colourful lights if he locked his eyes with any one thing for far too long, as he often did. When John finally looked up from the letter to grant his eyes a rest, a quick headache left his head in pain and dizziness. John failed to care though. It distracted him from the name at the bottom of the page.

Still, no matter how hard John tried to rid himself of the odd and bright, cool coloured hallucinations, the only thing he wished to see was red. Anything to prove to himself that his life was not as cold and dark as it seemed to be on the surface.

Sex, drugs and the death-dealing pressure to make money night after night - It's a steep, downward spiral which 20-year-old Elijah Everdeen has found himself stuck in ever since his parents died. If it weren't for his two siblings, he would have given up years ago. For a long time, he wanted to, thought about it every day even. Sometimes - in the cruelest, darkest of nights - he still does. But if this black-and-white world has really become Elijah's grim reality, then why is this young, mysterious man capable of adding color and a heartbeat to this dreadfully achromatic still life Eli is trapped in? Who is he? And...who is he REALLY? ~~~~~ DISCLAIMER: The storyline of this book is entirely fictional, it does not intend to mimic or describe real circumstances. His laugh, his smile, his eyes, and his last words. Oh god his last words were the saddest things I've ever heard, but he meant them, I know he did. Three words, eight letters, and it was all the truth, but the truth hurts so much. "I love you." Those words will never have the same meaning. Because they'll be my last memory of him. ----------------------------------- It was just a simple mission, no one was supposed to get hurt. They had done it plenty of times before. So why did it go so wrong? And why did take him? -------------------------------------- The pain, the tears, the silence, it seemed to never stop. Everything reminded them of him, no matter what it was, it was all him. Only one of them had felt the worst of it, because he was his everything, and losing him felt like the world had ended. He was gone, he wasn't returning from that mission. Until he did. ------------------------------- Blank, unknowing, confused, not like they remembered him. Not how he was in their fondest memories. He was there, but wasn't . When he was gone, they only had a memory, but when he returned, it was like he never had. Maybe that's all he'll ever be, a memory.
