These are draft transcriptions of the custodians' accounts and other documents relating to the Templars' property in Essex, covering the years 1308-13. It also includes other properties for which the sheriff of Essex was responsible, including estates in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire. The documents are preserved at Kew: The National Archives of the UK: individual rolls in the Exchequer Records at E 142, and a series of enrolled accounts in E 358/18-20. Valerie Rudd is in the process of transcribing and translating the documents from the individual rolls.
