Forty-eight years ago, the ship had departed Earth on a two hundred year voyage to 82 Eridani. "Our eyes will never gaze upon the new world," the original crew had told their children, "but we will be the giants upon whose shoulders those who see it, will stand."
Born onto a ship they never boarded, raised in a prison they can never escape, and destined to bequeath that fate to their own children, "the talk" becomes a touchstone moment of both childhood, and of fatherhood.

Twenty years ago, the Galactic Federation saved Earth from extinction. In return, humanity gave them its loyalty. Under their guidance, civilization advanced beyond anything we thought possible. New technology. New systems. A stronger world. For most of my life, I believed they were our saviors but I was wrong. My name is Alexa Stanfield. I'm twenty years old, a college student, and one of the people chosen for a purpose the Federation kept hidden from humanity for decades. We were never simply rescued but being prepared. An intergalactic war is spreading across the universe, and the Federation is running out of soldiers. The species they sent before us were destroyed faster than expected. Now, they want humans to take their place. My friends and I were selected because we can resist psychological manipulation better than most, but there's no time for ordinary military training. So, the Federation created something else, Safira, a beautiful moon transformed into a massive survival ground where every trial is designed to push us beyond our limits. There are no exceptions. Not for the young. Not for the old. Not for the innocent. Once you're chosen, you play. And the rules are simple: Adapt, survive, and become useful. My friends and I thought our bond would be enough to carry us through. We were wrong about that, too. Because Safira doesn't just test strength. It tests loyalty, trust, far, and how far someone is willing to go when survival demands a sacrifice. I thought the worst thing waiting for us was the war beyond the stars. She comes to realize the world isnt as unforgiving and cold as it seems. She's saved by a native who dislikes humans as much as the next guy but shes intent on sticking by his side in order to survive. The only issue being is the last thing he wants is a pathetic, weak human girl following him around. (Limited time only read!) The world was deemed unliveable in 2025. Humans were moved to space stations in order to survive, looking for a new planet to call home. The year is now 2050, and we still have not found a planet. I was born on this ship but my parents were alive when Earth 'died.' I've been chosen to journey to the planet of Alalea in hopes of finally finding somewhere to live. I never thought I would call this place home until I met him. (Based on the world of avatar. But we have managed to survive and persevere despite everything that has happened. The year 2147 was a year of hope for us, with the arrival of the Golik, an alien race, who were kind and wanted nothing more than to help us. Alongside the Golik, we had five years of peace and prosperity with them, both races gaining knowledge from the other and building to create a wonderful relationship with the other. After five years of peace and prosperity, then the peace ran out and the invasion began.
