At the age of 17, Jennifer Williams has never known loss. She's had all she could ever want. But that was until her beautiful, talented horse she trained herself, drops dead underneath her in the show ring.

Noah Danvers has been living with loss ever since his mother died in a tragic farming accident.

Jen escapes from her grief by changing everything about her life; moving away from home to spend her summer living on an island in South Carolina, scrubbing toilets and waiting on guests at a B&B.

Once there, she meets Noah; doing his best to keep anything else in his life from changing.

When Noah offers Jennifer a scruffy paint gelding out of a friend's back field, it's the beginning of a journey that could change, or break, the both of them by Summer's end.

It was a beautiful autumn day, the sun was shining and I was in a good mood. It was Friday, I was walking across campus and had an awesome weekend ahead of me. Someone touched my shoulder as they ran up behind me. It was Jennifer Madison. Her dark blond hair was tied up in a ponytail and her green eyes were shining. Everyone thought she was very pretty. She was single. "Hi Brad, enjoy your weekend! I'll see you on Monday." I nodded and smiled, "Yeah, thanks. You too." If I didn't already have a girlfriend, I could easily have her. She wanted me. I could tell. Who wouldn't? I'm the hottest on campus, I thought cockily. A group of freshmen girls standing under a tree watched me as I passed by them. I flashed them a Brad Townsend smile, that would make any girl weak in the knees. They smiled back, waved and started whispering and giggling. That's when I saw her. Lavinia. She was walking with great determination toward me. I smiled broadly. I couldn't believe she was here. Probably to surprise me. She looked amazing. She was wearing a light blue top and a white miniskirt. Her blond hair flowed like silk through the autumn breeze. I couldn't wait to spend the entire weekend with her. "I'm breaking up with you. I've met someone else," she said. The way she said it sounded so off. Like someone standing up at a wedding, clinking their glass with the purpose of making an announcement. Was she even looking slightly bored?

Noah destroys every life he touches. Taking his first life with his own first breath, his path of destruction only spirals from there. Consumed by guilt and reminded every day of all that he's done, he makes a terrible decision- and ends up with the only thing he's ever wanted in life. Now he's faced with a choice- lie and be happy, or tell the truth and risk losing the one person who's saved his life time and time again. The odds that all of this could happen to one person? Slim to none. But then again, they've always been stacked against him. **trigger warning for content: suicide, trauma, physical/emotional abuse** **Mature- strong language, some sexual content** My cover was created using a free stock photo I found online and the website Canva- I do not own the picture! She's more than happy taking things at her own pace. Hoping that if she moves slow enough, she can keep her and her daughter in their own little bubble that has kept them safe all these years. But with the arrival of a familiar stranger arriving at Black Oak Ranch, things are set to be more complicated than she'd been counting on. Ryder Matthews fucked up and he knows it. 11 years ago, he left the love of his lie in some pre-college life freak out and when he returned 3 years later, she was gone. After spending the better part of 14 months travelling the world in hopes of finding some kind of meaning to life outside of the little town where every turn is a burning memory of Sadie, he returns with no hope. He's stuck to deal with his consequences. A week after his return home, Ryder heads to Jack Taylor's ranch to get his old farm hand job back. When he steps out of the car, a 9 year old girl greets him and when her mom comes to see what the fuss is all about, he's met with the last person he thought he'd ever see back in Alcombey. But when his heart is still beating for her and her heart is locked behind solid concrete walls, is that even possible?

Reagan Renne Walker left the tiny town that she grew up in in Wyoming five years ago to fulfill her dream of opening an equine therapy ranch in Montana & to start a new life. Reagan's parents died when she was just seven years old. Mallory, Reagan's older sister, was still too young to care for both herself and her sister. As a result, Reagan and Mallory were forced to live with their grandparents. Mamaw and Papaw Walker sent both girls through school and college. Reagan never imagined leaving Wyoming. However, after her unexpected relationship with Swayde, her childhood best friend, and love of her life, took a turn for the worst, all Reagan could think about was that she couldn't get out of Wyoming fast enough. Swayde is your typical, rugged cowboy. His smile was enough to melt any girls heart, his eyes made it seem like the sun was always shining, even in the worst storm, his square jaw line accented his dark beard, his body thick with muscles. His physical features and build were intimidating at times, and didn't always match his laid back, easy going, gentlemanly personality. Swayde never thought he would fall for feisty Reagan, and even more so, Reagan never thought that she would fall for him. They end up in this unexpected whirlwind relationship, and everything is hunky dory until Reagan finds out a secret from Swayde's past that would forever change the way she looked at him; a secret he kept from her for over ten years. Confiding in her grandma, Reagan finds out that her grandparents knew the secret all along too. How could the people she thought loved her hurt her so bad and keep this big of a secret from her for so long? When tragedy strikes back in Wyoming, Reagan is forced to move back to the town she swore she would never step boot in again, thus leaving her new life in Montana behind. Through God, can Reagan find a way to forgive the people who hurt her, or will she forever consider Alpine Ridge "Heartbreak Town?"
