Three years after the events of Red Queen, tensions are still stirring in Norta. Newblood Lydia Cross, a conspiracy theorist and reporter just wanted to get though her life, until King Maven forced her into service as his personal reporter, spreading his lies. All Lydia wanted was to survive, but the mysterious, black hearted king draws her in. As she discovers his secrets, Lydia finds herself trapped in the middle of a battle she never wanted to be apart of.
After Mare, all Maven wants is to put the past behind him and enact his plans for Norta. But when he crosses paths with Lydia Cross, a newblood with an intriguing power, he finds himself again fighting his emotions. But will this new love prove to be a powerful and equally black hearted ally?
