Dazai has lived in the same small and simple village for all of his life and has always wanted something better like in the stories he reads. Now bored because he has read every book in his village, killing himself seemed like the best option for him to gain peace, but none of his killing techniques work. The town golden boy, Fydor, believes if Dazai were to marry him, his life would be better, but of course Dazai heart belongs to death. When his father, Odasaku, gets imprisoned with a mysterious Beast, Dazai must give himself up, along with all of his dreams of dying. However, along the way he finds out what he has been missing all his life when he meets the Beast.
